So enough of the melancholy... I was just having one of those days, but I feel so much better today! I did end up going to Vicky's party last night. It was a really good time. I met a lot of people and made some new friends. It will be nice to know some of the other international kids - two of the girls from Brazil are really nice and seem really fun, and I also met a girl and a guy from France! I've never met anyone from France, so she was really fun to talk to!
The German boys were there too, but they are in my Spanish class so I already know them. They came with David, Amelia’s Brazilian brother. I also met Josh (the other year-long student)'s roommate, Guillermo. Josh decided to live in the dorms. Guillermo's really nice too. He's very tall. He's actually taller than me. And he's from... a town near Santa Fe... I don't remember the name of it. Santa Fe, Argentina - not New Mexico! LOL And Julian brought his Argentinian brother and his Japanese sister, LOL. I met his brother but didn't get a chance to talk to him, but Shino (that's phonetic, I have no idea how you really spell it) is SO cute! She is absolutely fun. She's like a foot shorter than me, maybe more... and kind of quiet, but so nice!
Umm who else. 2 kids from Clemson, Anne and... David? who just finished their semester and are headed back to the USA next week. Too bad, cause Anne is really nice. She's from Greenville! How crazy is that. Oh and two guys and a girl who maybe go to UBP? I think they are from here, not exchange students. Mati, Emi and Nati. (Yes, they are definitely from here - why does everyone here have a 3 to 4 letter name! That they actually use to introduce themselves! It's so confusing.)
Vicky played a lot of old music... like the Yah-Yahs or Yeah-Yeah-Yeahs or whatever they're called. LOL But so all the USA kids had a great time reminiscing about these songs that came out while we were in middle school or before!
Today at some point I have to go BACK to Movistar... I am SO pissed! SO PISSED! My cell phone STILL does not work!!! I'm going to give them the damn phone and ask for my money back. Movistar is convenient and I got really good service coverage but Lord have mercy I can't wait any more! I also need to do some laundry and go to the supermarket... I wonder if they are open on Sundays here? I know Movistar is, but I don't know about the supermercados... Hmm. And my host family is still in Marco Juarez (the town) with Vero's mom, so I can't ask them either. Oh well. I guess that can wait til tomorrow after school...
So basically I have no plans for today. It’s a nice feeling. I do have an essay on Julio Cortázar’s “Realidad y Literatura” essay due tomorrow, so I’ll get that done at some point. School... bleh.
