In front of the waterfall!

This morning I got up at 6:30 am – despite the birthday party last night – and went hiking in the Sierras Chicas mountains with the program. Not a lot of CC-CS students made it... Amelia, Josh, Shino and I were the only ones I believe. But a lot of the Brazilians came, including David (Amelia’s “brother”) and Mariana (from my Spanish class), which was nice; and I met two of their tutors, Janina and Virginia, who seem really cool. There was a good group of us that went...

We drove about an hour up into the mountains, parked the bus, and hiked through a cow pasture to a waterfall. The Sierras are not really pretty mountains, actually – they are kind of scrubby, with a lot of dust and desert grass. But oh well. We hiked to a waterfall, which was absolutely beautiful! Then we hung out while the guides prepared an asado. It was delicious.

After lunch, we hiked back up to the buses. Then we drove further into the mountains to a path that led to the house of a famous painter. But there was a wildfire, so we didn’t hike that one. We just came back down the mountain to school. We were gone from 8:00 am to around 6:00 pm, so it was an all-day adventure.

I was having really rough sinus problems, so I took a Benadryl and went to bed.
