Allyson and I practicing the tango!I had class this morning at 11:00 am. I got up early, took a shower, and left for school about an hour early so that I could use the Internet and print my essay. Then for my first class we watched the movie “The Mission” with Robert de Niro... It made me cry, actually. It was about the expulsion of the Jesuits from South America and what that meant for the Indians (in this case the guaraní) that lived in the missions – slavery or slaughter. It was very sad.
Anyway after that we had another break for lunch. I ate a sanwich a la milanesa, which was awesome but took forever cause there was another huge grupo de intercambio in the cafeteria at the same time.
Then I got to talk to Andrew!!!! That was the highlight of my day.
Then we had Language and Culture class, where we talked about superstitions and Cordoba’s ghosts. It was really interesting! I love ghost stories, as long as it’s daytime... Anyway then we had a 30 minute break before tango class.
I was really NOT looking forward to tango class. I am not a dancer, by any stretch, and I am extremely uncoordinated. But the class turned out to be really nice. I only got lost on one paso of the tango, and then we did another circle dance that looks like it’s going to be interesting too.
Then I went to Allyson’s house because Vero and Valentina were there, and we went with Gabi and Allyson to Fernando’s bakery and then to the grocery store. We’re about to eat dinner – carne con pimientas, verduras y mucho ajo, which smells amazing - and then I’ll do some homework and go to bed.
