Today I had Technology – we have that midterm next Wednesday. It’s going to be a busy study weekend, too. Then I ate lunch and studied with Christina for Spanish. Mary Marshall and I went to aerobics – we did aero box today! I was very excited.
After aerobics, we had Literature. We’re starting “La Vanguardia” – I guess that would translate to the Vanguard movement? I don’t really know. But it’s pretty interesting. It’s almost all poetry, which is fantastic!
After Lit, I took a remis home with Allyson – apparently the colectivos went on strike around lunchtime. Then I got changed and walked down to my first Tae Kwon Do class in Argentina!!!! The teacher is a middle-aged black woman with dreadlocks from Chicago – her husband is Argentinian, so she moved down here with him. She is so hilarious! The class itself is so-so. It’s a small class, less than 10 students, and all of them under the age of 12. The highest is a green belt. So, that’s not too great. But she really knows her stuff, so I think it’s going to be worth going once a week. The kids are really cute. She doesn’t do Pagwe forms at all though (she’s WTF) so that’s too bad – those are the ones I need the most. But any Tae Kwon Do is great with me.
After that I would have had Kung Fu class, but since there were no colectivos there was no way to get there. I’m sure that a lot of people had the same problem, so I’m not too worried about it.
