Mary Marshall, Amy, Allyson and I woke up around noon and went across the street to the kiosk to buy criollitos (little flaky bread pastries), a container of Dulce de Leche, and some drinks. We ate breakfast all together on the patio. Then we went back to the room and hung out until everyone else woke up.
Around 4:00 pm, we finally ate lunch. Whole chicken breasts / thighs on the grill with salad and fresh bread – I love Argentina! Then we took a nap. Around 5:00 pm, Mary Marshall, Amy, Jessica and I decided to walk the fifteen minutes to downtown Valle Hermoso. It was late afternoon on a Sunday, so not much was open, but we did find an ice cream shop.
When we got back, they were having a water balloon fight. Then they went on a short hike to nowhere. Amy and I stayed at the hostel and watched “Bad Boys”. When they got back, it took them another three or four hours to get ready to leave. We were supposed to be back to Córdoba around 10:00 pm, but we didn’t end up leaving Valle Hermomo until 11:00 pm, so we didn’t get back to Córdoba until around 12:30 am. Then they wanted to go out to eat, but Allyson and I decided it was time to go home. I have class tomorrow at 8:45 am!
All in all, the weekend was okay. It was NOT what we were expecting at all... I was expecting a high-energy, outdoorsy kind of weekend, but we really didn’t do much. However, it wasn’t too bad.
